Watch Jermaine Burton mock Arkansas DB by showing him where to line up after WRâs big catch
Jermaine Burton was having a little fun with the Arkansas secondary in the first half of the Tide’s 24-21 game on Saturday.
He also had a big catch.
With 12:50 in the second quarter and the Tide facing a second and 8, the Alabama receiver appears to be taunting an Arkansas defensive back by showing him how to line up against the speedy wide-out.
Burton keeps trying to tell the defensive back to move up closer to the line. You can understand any defensive back’s hesitation to play press coverage against Burton. It was two plays earlier, he hauled in a 44-yard bomb from Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Burton is playing with confidence after last week’s 197 yards and two touchdowns on nine catches in the 26-20 win over Texas A&M.
On Saturday, the Tide was in the middle of a 10-play, 84-yard drive, which resulted in a touchdown to put Alabama up 14-6. Burton finished with two catches for 60 yards.
Milroe passed for two touchdowns and rushed for a third, and No. 11 Alabama survived a second-half Arkansas rally. The Crimson Tide blew most of a 24-point third-quarter lead before summoning a big final drive to keep KJ Jefferson and the Razorbacks offense off the field at the end. The Tide remained the only SEC West team without a league loss, but they’re not coming in dominant fashion. The Razorbacks dropped their fifth straight game but not before putting a scare into the Tide.
